Hello My Name Is...

Mr. Farner

Here is some information about me. I graduated from Kennedy High School in Taylor, MI in 1999.  I decided to attend Eastern Michigan University and then transferred to Madonna University where I graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Secondary Education in History and Social Studies.  I attained my Master's Degree in Learning Disabilities from Madonna University in 2008.

This is my 5th year teaching at Patrick Henry Middle School in Special Education. I have worked in a variety of classrooms while here including 8th and 9th grade Social Studies and Science and Language Arts and 8th grade Pre-Algebra.

Prior to my time here in Woodhaven I taught 7th grade Social Studies at Michigan Technical Academy in Detroit. I also held numerous positions such as long-term substitute, Academic Teaching Assistant and Special Education ATA in the Taylor School District.

I currently coach both Boy's and Girl's 7th grade Basketball at Brownstown Middle School.  I am also the Head Varsity baseball Coach at Kennedy High School in Taylor.

My teaching philosophy is to guide students to make academic and social progress by getting them to take responsibility for their education through a variety of teaching models.
